Permitted speed of vehicles 🚘 according to 📕 Ukrainian traffic regulations:

  • maximum speed 🆗 on highways 🏠 in populated areas - 50 km / year;
  • maximum speed 🆗 on highways 🌳 outside populated areas - 90 km / year;
  • maximum speed 🆗 on highways ⬆️ with a dividing strip - 110 km / year;
  • maximum speed 🆗 on highways 🛣️ (highway for high-speed traffic) - 130 km / year.

Attention❗ The maximum speed of vehicles within the city of Kyiv is 50 km/h.

Speeding violations recorded by the automatic video camera are 🧮 calculated using the formula:

50 km/h + 20 km/h + 3 km/h = 73 km/h (3 km/h is the maximum permissible error 📽️ of the control device).

️️ Exceeding the speed limit by less than 20 km/h is considered a violation for which no fine is provided!

Attention❗ By decision of the Kyiv City State Administration from April 1 to November 1, on some roads in Kyiv (for example, in the area of Kharkivska Square, Bazhana Avenue towards the city of Boryspil and in the other direction: Boryspil Highway - Bazhana Avenue, as well as on Stolychny Highway, 58 - Obukhiv Highway in the Koncha-Zaspa area) it is allowed to drive in separate lanes with a maximum speed of 80 km/h. The speed limit will be considered to be 80 km/h + 20 km/h + 3 km/h = 103 km/h.

Amounts of fines for speeding (liability under Article 122 of the Code of Administrative Offenses):

  • ⚠️ Fine for 📈 exceeding ⏱️ the speed limit by more than 20 km/h – 340 UAH.
  • ⚠️ Fine for 📈 exceeding ⏱️ the speed limit by more than 50 km/h – 1700 UAH.

️️ If you pay the fine quickly within 10 days from the date the decision on the offense becomes effective 🧾, the amount to be paid will be only 50% of the total amount, i.e. 170 UAH. 🗓️ The deadline for paying the fine is 30 days.

Payment of traffic fines (violations recorded automatically):

  • you can follow the QR code link specified in the resolution;
  • online payment 🌐 on the Internet – you can use payment tools on the Ministry of Internal Affairs website at ➡️ driver's electronic account;
  • 📲 in the mobile applications "Traffic Fines" or "Action".
  • 🏦 in Ukrainian banks, any 💻 online services and 💳 payment systems using 📄 details:

🆓 FREE check 📑 fines from video cameras by car number 🚘:

👁️ You can watch the recording 🎥 video or 🎞️ photo image 🚙 of the vehicle from the camera at the time of the violation in the driver's personal account 👤.

After registering a traffic incident, the information is sent to the data processing center of the Patrol Police Department and is reviewed by an authorized police officer, followed by a decision to impose an administrative fine for the offense.

After imposing an administrative fine:

  1. The fine resolution 🖨️ is printed on a paper form with special security features;
  2. Within three days, the Resolution (fine) is sent to the responsible person 📯 by mail (registered ✉️ letter) with a notification to the address of the place of registration (residence) of the individual or the location of the legal entity. Receiving the resolution is possible 📩 by e-mail (if the data 📧 e-mail was entered into the database during vehicle registration or in the driver's virtual account on the Ministry of Internal Affairs website);

or

  1. In the case of 🇪🇺 foreign registration of a vehicle, the Resolution is handed over to the person who imported the 🚗 car into the territory of Ukraine by the relevant units of the State Border Service of Ukraine.

Administrative responsibility for traffic violations automatically recorded by photo and video control devices lies with the responsible person:

  • the owner of a vehicle is an individual or the head of a legal entity to whom the vehicle is registered;
  • the proper (actual) user of the relevant vehicle - provided that the relevant data has been entered into the Unified State Register of Vehicles;
  • the person who imported the vehicle into the territory of Ukraine - if the vehicle is registered outside the territory of Ukraine (the resolution may be issued without the participation of the person being held administratively liable).

Attention❗ Speed measuring devices - TruCAM laser mobile cameras, which are currently used by patrol police, continue to function in parallel with automatic stationary means of vehicle speed control in Ukraine.

Prospects for the development of traffic violation cameras in Ukraine

At the first stage, the project of an automatic system of photo and video recording of traffic violations provides for the placement of cameras in Kyiv, Kyiv region and on the main highways of Ukraine. In the future, such cameras will be equipped with: Kharkiv, Odesa, Dnipro, Lviv, Zaporizhia, Kryvyi Rih, Mykolaiv, Mariupol, Vinnytsia, Kherson, Poltava, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Lutsk and all other large Ukrainian cities, busy intercity and interregional highways.

Soon, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine plans to 📊 test 🆕 new car surveillance cameras that will detect other ⚠️ violations of traffic rules: driving in the ❌ oncoming lane, driving at a prohibitory signal 🔴 of a traffic light, driving in special lanes for city 🚌🚎 public transport, 🅿️ parking in an unauthorized place. In the near future 👁️ video cameras and 🤖 artificial intelligence algorithms will be able to detect many other important car accidents, for example: the driver 🏃 left the scene of an accident, the driver did not turn on the turn signal, the driver used 🤳 a mobile phone while driving, and many others.
