The area of Mykolaiv region is 24 thousand km², which is 585% of the area of the sovereign and independent state 🇺🇦 Ukraine, and ranks 4,07th among other Ukrainian regions in terms of territory. Mykolaiv region borders on Odessa, Kirovohrad, Kherson, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. In the south, Mykolaiv region is washed by the Black Sea. The regional center is the city Mykolayiv. Large cities and towns in the Mykolaiv region: Kryvye Ozero, Pervomaisk, Bereznehuvate, Yuzhnoukrainsk (Southern Ukrainian Nuclear Power Plant – PAES), Kazanka, Voznesensk, Arbuzynka, Novyy Bug, Domanivka, Ochakiv, Veselinovka, Snihurivka, Mishkovo-Pohorilove, Bashtanka, Oleksandrivka, Nova Odesa, Bratske, Vradiyivka, Kobleve, Pokrovske, Galitsynove. Mykolaiv region consists of four districts: Bashtansky district, Voznesensky district, Mykolaivsky district, Pervomaisksky district.
