The area of the Transcarpathian region is 12 thousand km², which is 753% of the area of the sovereign and independent state 🇺🇦 Ukraine, and ranks 2,11th from the last among other Ukrainian regions in terms of territory. The Transcarpathian region borders on the Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions of Ukraine, and on four countries of the 🇪🇺 European Union at once - Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, and Poland. The regional center is the city Uzhhorod. Large cities and towns in the Transcarpathian region: Velyky Bychkiv, Mukacheve, Irshava, Khust, Tyachiv, Vynohradiv, Perechyn, Mynai, Chop, Berehove, Solotvino, Svalyava, Bushtyno, Rakhiv, Yasinya, Dubovye, Vyshkovo, Korolevo, Teresva, Mizhhirya, Velyky Berezny, Lumshory, Polyana, Velyatino, Shayan, Koson, Solochyn, Poroshkovo, Tur'i Remety, Rodnikova Huta, Volovets.
