Free psychological assistance to Ukrainians from the UN (UNICEF)
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the lives of every Ukrainian have changed radically. Adults and children have experienced a huge amount of traumatic experience and are in a state of stress. Many of us need psychological help during the war. The ecosystem of psychological help in the field of education also becomes especially important.
PORUCH is a joint project of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the Ukrainian Institute of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and the NGO Volonter.
Support group programs "Nearby" – is free psychological assistance online and in person (offline) for children from 8 years old, parents and everyone who works with children.
Currently, every citizen of Ukraine who wishes to participate in two charity programs from the 🇺🇳 UN (UNICEF) is available: "Children and War" and "Stress-free parenting".
🇺🇦 Program "Children and War" – this is the first psychological aid to participants in the educational process during and after the end of hostilities, in particular, the following are available:
- children's and teenage groups (requirements: child 8 years old and older);
- parent groups (requirements: mother or father, or persons replacing them, one or more children);
- and groups for educators (requirements: employee of an educational institution or other specialist in working with children).
During our meetings, a certified specialist – a practical psychologist free online or in person (locations for offline classes are available only within the cities of Kyiv and Boryspil) will help:
- ✅ discuss existing reactions to stress and traumatic experiences in children and adults;
- ✅ learn rules and techniques that will help overcome stress and prevent the development of PTSD, stabilize your life during a period of war and uncertainty;
- ✅ share your stories and be heard;
- ✅ find resources to support yourself and those around you;
- ✅ at the end of each lesson, you will have specific techniques or algorithms of actions to immediately apply in practice in working with yourself and children.

🇺🇦 Stress-Free Parenting Program created to support parents and people working with children. Now we must not only cope with difficult life circumstances, in conditions of uncertainty, chronic stress, physical and mental exhaustion, but also provide more support to our children, who also suffer from the consequences of war. Often there is simply not enough strength for this, which is why existing and new behavioral, emotional and other problems in children are exacerbated, and relationships in families are destroyed. At this time, there is an urgent need for new knowledge and skills that will help parents support yourself and your children, cope with emerging problems and build reliable, strong relationships with themThe program includes:
- parent groups (requirements: mother or father, or persons replacing them, from one child or more children);
- groups for educators (requirements: employee of an educational institution or other specialist in working with children).
At our meetings, a certified child psychologist (family psychologist) free of charge online or in person (offline classes are available only in Kyiv and Boryspil) will help you learn about:
- ✅ the concept of "positive parenting";
- ✅ types of emotional attachment and ways to form secure attachments with children;
- ✅ age crises in children and how parents can respond to them correctly;
- ✅ how children of different ages experience stress and how adults can effectively help;
- ✅ psychological first aid (PPD) for various psycho-emotional reactions in children;
- ✅ methods of resolving conflicts at home and with peers;
- ✅ how parents can stabilize their psychological state and where to find strength and resources.

The opportunity to participate in free online psychological support groups is open to anyone from any corner of Ukraine, as well as to all Ukrainians, internally displaced persons or refugees from abroad who were evacuated and affected by the full-scale invasion. To do this, you will need any device with a 👁️ camera, 🎙️ microphone and stable 📶 internet (📲 smartphone, tablet, 💻 laptop, 🖥️ computer) with the Zoom program/app installed (the application can be downloaded for free from Google Play for Android or the App Store for iOS (iPhone, iPad, iMac).
